A celebration of strategy, innovation and international teamwork

The EUREL TOPSIM International Management Cup (IMC) 2025 has officially closed - bringing together 39 teams and over 100 Students and Young Engineers from across Europe and beyond. Participants from nine countries - including Hungary, Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Israel, Slovenia and Spain - competed in this unique business simulation experience designed to strengthen strategic thinking, leadership and collaboration, all stepping into the virtual boardroom to experience what it really means to run a business.

Competition Structure: From strategy to simulation

TOPSIM

This year's competition was particularly dynamic thanks to the enhanced partnership with TOPSIM, which brought a new level of interactivity and realism to the game.

Each round was a new business quarter: new data, new challenges and new opportunities to adjust their strategies. Participants experienced what it's like to run a technology company, making real business decisions about pricing, marketing, staffing and investment - and then watching their decisions ripple through a simulated global marketplace.

From analysing financial results to making tough trade-offs under time pressure, the teams learned how every decision - even the small ones - can make or break a business. It's called the TOPSIM learning cycle: Decide. Simulate. Analyse. Reflect - and try again.

A Few Highlights from the Competition

  • Teams made key decisions across marketing, HR, and finance — all while keeping an eye on the competition.
  • The simulation spanned multiple rounds over several weeks, mimicking the long-term strategy needed in real business life.
  • Teams had to adapt fast, communicate clearly, and manage resources under pressure.

Every participant walked away with a stronger sense of how strategy works in practice — not just in textbooks.

And the winners are...

Led the market in total sales (65,000 units!) and made a huge leap from third to second place in the final round.

🥉 3rd place – Team 8: OMNIPRINT (Hungary)

A strong late-game comeback thanks to efficient production and cost control.

A Big Thank You to All Teams!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all participating teams. Your engagement, creativity, and energy made this competition more than just a simulation. Whether or not you reached the final round, each team demonstrated the kind of strategic thinking and teamwork that defines the future of engineering leadership.

Looking forward

The top teams are now invited to the European Future Technology Summit in Brussels this September - a prestigious event that continues the IMC's mission to promote excellence and cross-border collaboration in engineering and leadership.
